Both run a faceless channel on autopilot, but Faceless.so spreads posts across seven platforms on a credit budget, while ShortFast concentrates on TikTok, Reels and Shorts with flat video allowances, per-account queues and UGC-style video with AI actors.
Faceless.so and ShortFast are direct competitors. Both start from a niche or a prompt, write the script, add a voiceover and captions, render a vertical video and publish it on a recurring schedule without you touching it. If you want a hands-off faceless channel, either will do the job.
Faceless.so is the better pick if you post beyond the big three, since it publishes to Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads and X as well as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. It also imports Reddit posts, blog articles and tweets as source material, offers Reddit-story and fake-text formats, claims 70+ languages and voice cloning, and lets you sign up without a card.
ShortFast is the better pick if you want a flat video allowance instead of credits, a connected-account limit you can see before you buy, UGC-style video with AI actors, or REST API, webhook and MCP access as part of the product. Faceless.so's per-plan account limits are not published and its API is listed on the Ultra plan only, so if those matter, ask before you commit.

Faceless.so is credit-based. Every plan buys a monthly pool of credits and a standard video costs 20 of them. Starter is $290 a year, listed as $29 a month elsewhere on their site, for 500 credits, or about 25 videos. Growth is $49 a month, or $390 a year, for 1,000 credits and about 50 videos. Influencer is $107 a month for about 100 videos, and Ultra is $166 a month for about 250. Yearly billing is advertised as saving up to 51%.
The credit pool is flexible but harder to budget. The site does not publish what a UGC or AI-video render costs compared with a standard video, whether credits roll over, or how many social accounts each plan can connect. Some features are tiered: AI Agent editing and UGC video start at Growth, and API access is listed on Ultra only. Every plan does include unlimited series, no watermark and auto-posting to all seven platforms.
ShortFast prices by finished videos. Starter is $19 a month for 30 videos, one automation and one social account. Pro is $39 for 90 videos, three automations, up to three posts a day per automation and three social accounts. Advanced is $99 for 180 videos, six automations, six accounts and long videos up to 15 minutes. Yearly billing is 20% off. You know the video count and the account count before you pay, which is the main practical difference.
Faceless.so is built to be everywhere. It publishes natively to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram and also to Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads and X, so one series can feed seven feeds. It pulls topics from Google Trends, Wikipedia, Google News and Reddit, and it can start from a Reddit post, a blog article or a tweet. Formats include Reddit Stories, Fake Text Drama, Twitter story videos, audiograms and character animation.
ShortFast is narrower on purpose. It publishes to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts through the official APIs and nothing else. In exchange it puts more into each account: a separate queue per connected account, timezone-aware scheduling, and variations of the same video with different hooks for A/B testing. Its visuals come from licensed stock footage, AI b-roll, or AI actors in UGC-style videos, which suits product and lead-generation content as well as faceless niche channels.
There are caveats on both sides. On Faceless.so, some TikTok accounts can post directly while others receive a draft you publish from the app, and Instagram requires a Business or Creator account. ShortFast has no Reddit or blog import, no fake-text format, no voice cloning and no posting to Facebook, LinkedIn, X or Threads. If those are on your list, the choice is already made.
The overlap is large. Both write a script and hook, generate a voiceover and burned-in captions, render a vertical video and post it on a schedule you set once. Both offer stock footage and AI-generated visuals. Both expose the product to code: ShortFast through a REST API, webhooks and an MCP server, Faceless.so through a REST API, an MCP server, a CLI and a Claude Skill, with API access listed on its Ultra plan.
Neither uses avatars or lip-synced digital twins, and Faceless.so's own comparison with HeyGen positions it as voiceover-only. Faceless.so claims voice cloning on its comparison pages, which ShortFast does not offer, so check that in the app if it matters to you. Both are subscriptions you can cancel at any time.
A simple way to decide: count your platforms and your accounts. If you need more than three platforms, or you want Reddit and blog imports, Faceless.so covers ground ShortFast does not. If you need a known number of accounts with their own queues, a flat video allowance and UGC-style video with AI actors, ShortFast is the more predictable choice. The trial costs $1 for three days, so testing it against a free Faceless.so signup is cheap.
