What editing does it apply automatically?

It splits the narration into short scenes timed to the voice, at the pace you pick, and gives each scene a visual. Still images get camera moves so nothing sits frozen on screen, and transitions are chosen to suit the mood of the video.

Does it remove silences or add jump cuts?

Automatic jump cuts and silence removal for footage you upload are coming soon; start from this page to get early access. Videos built on ShortFast's own voiceover don't need them: the narration has no dead air, and every scene is already cut to it.

Can I turn off specific effects?

Yes. Camera moves and transitions can be switched off, and you can swap any scene's visual. Calm explainers often work better with fewer moves; high-energy topics can take more.

Do I still need CapCut or Premiere?

Not for a standard short-form video, and AI edit now adds the motion design too: big hook words, counters and charts, maps with pins and labels, and the subject cut out and popped forward, all timed to the voice. You would still want a conventional editor for bespoke work: frame-level timing, or cutting footage you shot yourself.
