The best Reddit story video maker for TikTok depends on one choice: read a real Reddit post as written, or tell the story in your own words. Revid, Faceless.so and Captions import a post or comment from a link and put it over gameplay or AI visuals; ShortFast and StoryShort write a retelling and post it for you on a schedule, which is the version TikTok's originality rules are written to reward.
Reddit stories are one of the most common faceless formats on TikTok and YouTube Shorts, and also one of the most copied. That is why this guide covers rights and originality as well as features and prices.
How we compared
We read each tool's own pages on October 22, 2026: how it gets the story (a Reddit link, pasted text or an AI-written story), what plays behind the narration, whether it posts for you, the monthly list price, and what it says about Reddit content. ShortFast is our product and is listed in the same format. Nothing here is legal advice.

The rules that decide whether a Reddit video can earn
Reddit posts belong to the people who wrote them. Reddit's User Agreement says users retain ownership of their content and license it to Reddit, not to everyone else, and that you may not commercially exploit content or prepare derivative works without Reddit's written agreement. Its Data API Terms add that apps may not modify user content except to format it, and that commercial use needs a separate agreement. None of the tools that import posts by link says whether it has such an agreement.
TikTok decides whether a video earns. Its Creator Rewards Program requires videos of at least one minute and original content, and lists as not original: content reproduced from others with only slight modifications, videos combining other people's footage without new and personal ideas, and videos with only text overlays. A Reddit post read word for word over gameplay downloaded from another creator is close to that description on several counts.
What works instead is a retelling: keep the dilemma that makes the story gripping, change the names, details, order and opening line, add your own take, and credit the original poster if you base a video on one. StoryShort is the only vendor that writes this rule on its own page: rewrite the story in your own words or add your own take, and credit the original poster.
The tools, one by one
ShortFast does not import Reddit links. You either describe the story and it writes an original script, or paste your own retelling as the script, which it keeps word for word. It then builds the scenes from licensed stock footage or AI images in one of 27 styles, adds a voice and captions, and posts it to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts on a daily schedule. Starter is $19 a month for 1,000 credits; a typical stock-footage video uses about 12 credits, an AI art-style video about 25. It has no gameplay backgrounds and no fake-text format.
StoryShort turns a Reddit link or pasted text into a scene-by-scene video with an AI image for each scene, no gameplay, and posts to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on a schedule. Starter is $39 a month for 400 credits, about 26 thirty-second videos by its own figures. It has the clearest rights guidance of any tool here.
Faceless.so offers two routes. Paste a Reddit link and it fetches the post's title and body, condenses it and lays it over gameplay such as Minecraft parkour, Subway Surfers or GTA; a Reddit series can pick posts from chosen subreddits and post on a schedule. Or use its free generator, which writes original stories in the voice of a subreddit. Starter is $29 a month for 500 credits and posts three times a week, to seven platforms. It says it uses its own recorded gameplay.
Revid takes a Reddit post URL, extracts the story or a few comments, adds Minecraft gameplay by default (Subway Surfers, stock or AI visuals are options) and publishes to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube on its $39 Growth plan. Its Reddit pages say nothing about rights.
Crayo is a browser editor with Reddit story, fake-text and split-screen workflows, popular for the gameplay-under-story format. Hobby is $19 a month for 250 video credits and 2 hours of export. It does not post: you export and upload. Its FAQ says you can monetize while its terms of service limit use to personal, non-commercial purposes, so read both.
Shortspilot has Reddit Stories and Fake Chat formats on every plan, with a timeline editor. Pilot is $18 a month and posts to YouTube Shorts automatically; for TikTok you confirm each upload from an email. Its product is at shortspilot.ai, not shortspilot.com.
Captions has a Reddit to Video tool that turns a Reddit comment, not a whole post, into a video, and lets you edit the title and script first. It needs the $9.99 Basic plan listed in its help center. It publishes one video at a time, with no recurring schedule.
RedditVideoMakerBot is a free open-source Python script. It pulls threads through your own Reddit API app, reads the post or comments verbatim over screenshots and gameplay downloaded from other creators' YouTube videos, and credits the gameplay creator. It deliberately does not upload, and its README says the only original thing it does is the editing.
Which one to pick
A channel that can earn on TikTok and YouTube: a retelling tool. ShortFast if you want stock footage or a fixed illustrated style and daily posting to three platforms for $19; StoryShort if you want an AI image per scene and its rights guidance built into the workflow.
The classic gameplay look with posting handled: Faceless.so or Revid, but rewrite the imported text yourself before it posts.
Full manual control and fake-text stories: Crayo, then upload yourself.
Free and technical: RedditVideoMakerBot, for practice or private use rather than a monetized channel.
Whatever you use, post at a pace the account can sustain, label anything that presents fiction as a true story, and check the first videos of any series before it runs on its own.
FAQ
Common questions
- Can you monetize Reddit story videos on TikTok?
- Only if TikTok treats them as original. Its Creator Rewards Program needs videos of at least one minute and original content, and it excludes content reproduced with only slight changes and videos that combine other people's footage without new ideas. A rewritten story with your own visuals can qualify; a post read word for word over downloaded gameplay usually does not.
- Is it legal to use Reddit posts in videos?
- Reddit's User Agreement says posters keep ownership of their content and that you may not commercially exploit content or make derivative works without Reddit's written agreement. Retelling a story in your own words with your own take, and crediting the original poster, is the safer route. This is not legal advice.
- Which Reddit story video maker posts to TikTok automatically?
- ShortFast, StoryShort, Faceless.so and Revid publish to TikTok on a schedule. Shortspilot posts to YouTube on its own but asks you to confirm each TikTok upload by email. Crayo, Captions and RedditVideoMakerBot do not run a posting schedule.
- What is the cheapest Reddit story video maker?
- RedditVideoMakerBot is free but technical and reads posts verbatim. Among paid tools, Captions' Basic plan is $9.99 a month for comments only, Shortspilot starts at $18, and ShortFast and Crayo at $19. Prices checked on October 22, 2026.
