Both turn a topic into a narrated short and post it to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on a schedule. StoryShort focuses on AI-image stories with consistent characters, voice cloning and Reddit imports; ShortFast adds licensed stock footage, 27 fixed styles and a lower entry price.
StoryShort and ShortFast do the same core job: give either one a topic or a series idea, and it writes the script, makes the video, adds a voice and captions, and posts it to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on a schedule. Both also make UGC-style product videos and long videos, and both have an API and an MCP server.
StoryShort is the better pick if you tell stories with recurring characters that stay the same from scene to scene, if you want a professional clone of your own voice, if you start from Reddit posts or from an existing video you want to remake, or if you want unused credits to roll over. Its rights guidance for Reddit content (rewrite in your own words and credit the original poster) is also the clearest we have seen.
ShortFast is the better pick if you want licensed stock footage, a fixed illustrated style such as stick figures, whiteboard or claymation, or the lower entry price: $19 a month for 1,000 credits against StoryShort's $39 for 400. It also runs more accounts on its middle plan and puts its API and MCP server on every plan.

StoryShort's pitch is that AI story videos usually look like photos with a voice on top, and that it makes something closer to a film: AI images for each scene, with the same characters from the first scene to the last. It covers faceless stories, short drama, product UGC ads with your real product, memes, tier lists, music videos and long-form, and it can watch a video that already works and rebuild it on the same topic in your style.
ShortFast gives each channel one look from 27 styles: licensed documentary footage, footage mixed with AI images, AI video, or AI images in a fixed art style such as stick figures, cartoon explainer, whiteboard, comic book, anime, 3D animation, claymation or classical painting, with a shared palette and recurring characters per video. Its UGC-style videos use a lip-synced AI presenter, one of 5 or a portrait you upload. If your channel is about real places, money or business, stock footage is the reason to choose it.
StoryShort's Starter is $39 a month for 400 credits and one series, which it counts as about 26 thirty-second or 16 one-minute videos; Growth is $69 for 1,200 credits and two series, Influencer $129 and Ultra $199. Yearly billing is advertised as 40% off, from $279 a year. Unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount, and it refunds at its discretion within 15 days if no credits were used.
ShortFast's Starter is $19 a month for 1,000 credits, one automation and one account; Pro $39 for 5,000 credits, three automations and three accounts; Advanced $99 for 10,000. A typical stock-footage video uses about 12 credits and an AI art-style video about 25, so even Starter covers dozens of videos a month. Fully animated videos are the exception, at about 464 credits each.
StoryShort can import a Reddit thread by link or pasted text and turn it into scenes, and it says plainly that Reddit posts belong to the people who wrote them: rewrite the story in your own words or add your own take, and credit the original poster. That is the right advice for any tool, including ours. ShortFast does not import Reddit links; you describe the story or paste your own retelling as the script.
