Both turn a topic into a faceless short and post it to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube on a schedule, and both can be driven from ChatGPT or Claude through an MCP server. They differ in what a video can look like, what a credit buys and how many accounts each plan covers.
These two do the same job. Give either one a niche or a topic and it writes the script, generates a vertical video with a voiceover and captions, and posts it to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube on a schedule. Both also ship an MCP server, so you can set up a series from inside ChatGPT or Claude. The choice comes down to the look of the videos, the cost of a credit and how many channels you run.
Faceless.video is the better pick if you want its trend formats (memes, AI influencers, POV, Italian brainrot, podcast clips), if you want credits that roll over from month to month, or if you want to connect many social accounts on a $35 plan. ShortFast is the better pick if you want licensed stock footage or one of 27 fixed art styles such as stick figures, anime or claymation, if you want UGC-style videos with AI actors, or if you need a REST API and webhooks next to the MCP server.
On price they start within a dollar of each other, $19 and $20 a month. What the money buys is different: Faceless.video's Starter is 30 credits, which it describes as up to 15 videos. ShortFast's Starter is 1,000 credits, and a typical documentary video made from stock footage uses about 12, an AI-image style video about 25. Fully animated AI video is expensive on ShortFast, so check the math for the kind of video you actually want.

Only credits are enforced. Faceless.video's counts are its own "up to" figures; premium video types use more credits, and its credits roll over.

Both tools sell credits, so the plan price only means something once you know what one video costs. Faceless.video's Starter plan is $20 a month for 30 credits, which its pricing page describes as up to 15 videos. Daily is $35 for 60 credits (up to 30 videos), Double $59 for 120 (up to 60), and Studio $149 for 350 (up to 175). Its pricing page says higher-quality types use more credits, and that scene-based AI Video and VEO/Clone types charge every scene the same as the first, with the total shown before you confirm.
ShortFast's Starter plan is $19 a month for 1,000 credits, Pro $39 for 5,000 and Advanced $99 for 10,000. Typical costs from real videos in October 2026: about 12 credits for a documentary video made from stock footage, 14 for footage mixed with AI images, 25 for a video in an AI-image art style, about 260 for an AI presenter and 464 for a fully animated video. So Starter covers roughly 83 stock-footage videos or 40 art-style videos a month, but only about 2 fully animated ones.
That makes the answer depend on the video type. For stock-footage or illustrated videos, ShortFast's entry plan goes much further. For fully animated AI video every day, neither entry plan is enough, and you should compare the top-up price per video: Faceless.video sells top-ups at $0.60 to $0.80 a credit, ShortFast at $10 per 1,000 credits. Faceless.video's credits also roll over, which helps if your volume is uneven.
Faceless.video leans into what is trending on TikTok and Reels. Its tools include meme accounts, AI influencers you can pick or create, POV videos, Italian brainrot, scary stories and podcast clips, plus more than 100 AI avatars. If your plan is to ride a format that is popular this month, that catalogue is a real advantage.
ShortFast leans into a consistent look per channel. Every video is made in one of 27 styles: licensed documentary stock footage, a mix of footage and AI, AI video, or AI images drawn in a fixed art style such as stick figures, cartoon explainer, whiteboard, comic book, anime, 3D animation, claymation, classical painting or Greek statues. A history channel can stay in classical painting and a psychology channel in stick figures for a year without the look drifting. It also makes UGC-style videos with AI actors for product content.
Whichever you pick, the platforms' rules are the same. YouTube's July 2025 update calls mass-produced, repetitive uploads inauthentic content and keeps them out of the Partner Program, and TikTok does not recommend unoriginal content. Trend formats copied at scale are exactly that pattern, so give each video an original script and review the first ones before you let a series run.
This is one of the few comparisons where both tools can be driven by an AI agent. Faceless.video's MCP server works as a custom connector in Claude and in ChatGPT's developer mode. It lists video types and their costs, checks your credits, creates one-off videos, revises scripts, and creates, pauses or reschedules a series. Its site also links an API portal.
ShortFast exposes the same pipeline three ways: a REST API, signed webhooks that tell your system when a video is rendered or published, and a hosted MCP server for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients. API and MCP usage draw on the same plan credits as the app, with no separate developer pricing. If you are building an internal tool or an agency dashboard, the webhooks are what save you from polling.
