The Best Free Faceless Video Generators, and What Free Really Means (2026)

CapCut and Clipchamp are genuinely free without a watermark; Fliki, HeyGen and Vidnoz are free with a watermark; FlowShorts, ShortsBot and Revid give you a few free videos; ShortFast is $1 for three days. What each free tier actually allows, checked on October 22, 2026.

By ShortFast Editorial Team ·

The best free faceless video generator for most people is CapCut: its AI script-to-video tool is free, adds no watermark and gives you a full editor, but its music library is not cleared for monetized YouTube videos and it does not post for you. Clipchamp is the other genuinely free, watermark-free option, while Fliki, HeyGen and Vidnoz have free plans that watermark the video, and the auto-posters (FlowShorts, ShortsBot, Revid, ShortFast) only offer a free first video, free credits or a cheap trial.

"Free" covers very different things on these tools: a free plan you can use forever, a handful of free credits, a single free video, or a trial. And the limits that matter most for a faceless channel, watermarks, commercial rights and posting, are usually in the fine print. This guide puts them in one place.

How we compared

We read each tool's pricing and help pages on October 22, 2026, and recorded exactly what the free tier includes: how many videos or credits, export resolution and length, watermark, commercial rights, and whether it can post to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube. Canva's pages blocked our reader, so it is not in the table. ShortFast is our product; it has no free plan in the app and we say so.

Genuinely free, no watermark

CapCut's AI script-to-video maker writes up to five script options from a prompt and assembles stock footage with a voiceover, with no watermark, inside a free full editor. The catch is music: CapCut's materials licence clears its library music for personal, non-commercial videos, and its commercial sounds only within CapCut and TikTok, so a monetized YouTube channel needs music you have the rights to. You post the video yourself.

Clipchamp, Microsoft's editor, exports without a watermark at up to 1080p on the free personal plan, with free stock clips. It is an editor rather than a generator: AI video creation needs a work Copilot licence, so you assemble the faceless video yourself. It can send a 3 to 60 second video to your TikTok inbox and save to YouTube.

Free with a watermark

Fliki's free plan gives 3 credits a month to turn an idea, script, blog post or slide deck into a video with stock media, at 720p, up to 5 minutes, with a watermark. Its comparison table lists no commercial rights and no YouTube publishing on the free plan.

HeyGen's free plan makes 3 watermarked videos a month of up to one minute each, with access to its Video Agent and Avatar IV. It is built around avatars and does not post.

Vidnoz gives 30 free credits a day, about 60 seconds of video, with a 3-minute maximum and 720p export. Its comparison table lists a commercial licence on the free plan, but with the Vidnoz watermark. It does not post.

Free trials and free credits

Pictory's 14-day trial needs no card and includes 300 credits, about 10 minutes of video, with a watermark, 3 projects and 720p export. It is a trial, not a free plan.

FlowShorts makes your first video free without a card, and its plans post to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram from $19 a month.

ShortsBot gives 3 free credits, which is 3 videos, without a card; its plans post to TikTok and YouTube Shorts from $24.99 a month.

Revid gives new accounts free credits without a card, though it does not say how many; publishing starts on its $39 Growth plan.

ShortFast has no free plan in the app. Every monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1 with full access, including automatic posting to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts; trial workspaces can hit a daily cap of 5 generations. Developers using its API or MCP server get a free workspace with 50 credits every 30 days, enough for 3 generations and 3 watermarked renders, download only.

What free will not do

Free almost never posts for you. Of the free and trial offers here, only the auto-posters' trials and free credits can publish, and Clipchamp can hand a video to TikTok and YouTube. Everything else ends with a download.

Free often excludes commercial use. Fliki's free plan has no commercial rights, Vidnoz's comes with a watermark, and CapCut's library music is not cleared for monetized YouTube videos. If the channel is meant to earn, read the licence before you build on a free tier.

Free is usually watermarked or short. 720p exports, one-minute caps and three videos a month are enough to test a format, not to run a channel that posts every day.

Which one to pick

Make one faceless video for free with no watermark: CapCut, with your own licensed music for YouTube.

Edit stock clips by hand for free: Clipchamp.

Try an auto-poster before paying: FlowShorts' free first video or ShortsBot's 3 free credits, or ShortFast's $1 three-day trial for full access.

Build on an API for free: ShortFast's free API workspace, for prototypes.

When you outgrow free, compare paid plans by cost per video rather than sticker price; our guide to the cheapest auto-posting shorts generators does that math.

FAQ

Common questions

Is there a completely free faceless video generator?
CapCut's AI script-to-video tool is free and adds no watermark, and Clipchamp is a free watermark-free editor for assembling one yourself. Neither posts for you, and CapCut's library music is not cleared for monetized YouTube videos. Other free plans (Fliki, HeyGen, Vidnoz) watermark the video.
Can I monetize videos made on a free plan?
Check the licence. Fliki's free plan has no commercial rights, Vidnoz's free videos carry a watermark, and CapCut's library music is limited to non-commercial use. For a monetized channel, use a paid plan or a tool whose free tier grants commercial use, with music you own the rights to.
Which free faceless video generator posts automatically?
None of the permanently free plans we checked posts on a schedule. FlowShorts (one free video), ShortsBot (three free credits) and ShortFast (a $1 three-day trial) let you try automatic posting before paying.
Does ShortFast have a free plan?
Not in the app: every monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1 with full access. Developers using the API or MCP server get a free workspace with 50 credits every 30 days, enough for 3 watermarked renders, download only.
