ShortMind (shortmind.ai) and ShortFast (shortfast.com) are different products from different companies. ShortMind is a clipper: it cuts long videos you upload or link into short clips, scores and captions them, and schedules or publishes them. ShortFast makes new faceless shorts from a topic, writing the script, rendering the video and posting it on a schedule.
ShortFast is our product, made by SachaSoft LLC; ShortMind is a different product from a different company, and it is a clipper: its homepage says it identifies high-potential moments in a long video, moves the hook to the front, and turns them into captioned, reframed short clips you can schedule and publish. Pick ShortMind if you already record long videos, such as podcasts, live streams, webinars or courses, and want clips cut from them; pick ShortFast if you have nothing to clip and want new faceless shorts written from a topic and posted to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts on a schedule.
The two tools start from opposite ends. A clipper's strength is that it reuses footage you already have, so one recording can feed many clips; ShortFast doesn't clip videos you upload, because it starts from a topic, writes the script and hook, and renders a new video in one of 27 styles with a voiceover and burned-in captions. If cutting long recordings is your main job, ShortMind or another clipper such as OpusClip fits better; if you need a steady series without filming anything, ShortFast does.
ShortFast's plans are $29, $39 and $99 a month, and every monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1; there's no free plan. On October 24, 2026, ShortMind's pricing page listed a free plan with 5 credits a month, then Basic at $17 a month for 150 credits and Pro at $29 for 300, shown against struck-through prices of $34 and $58; each minute of uploaded video it processes uses 1 credit. AI B-roll suggestions on Pro (pricing page). |

Generates titles, descriptions, hashtags and hook overlays, per its homepage and features page. |
| Editing | Write or paste the script before generating. Afterwards, edit captions, B-roll, music, title and post text, then re-render; an edited script can't be re-voiced. | A built-in editor: trim, crop, add captions, change fonts, overlay B-roll and adjust the aspect ratio for each platform (homepage); add music and brand styling, and clean filler words (features page). |

ShortMind's pricing page showed Basic and Pro next to struck-through prices of $34 and $58 in both billing modes; the table lists the prices it says it bills. Per that page, each minute of uploaded video processed uses 1 ShortMind credit, and paid plans can buy extra credit packs, whose prices it doesn't list. The two companies' credits don't convert. ShortFast's video counts are estimates, not limits.

ShortMind is built for people who already have long videos. Per its help center, you upload a local video or paste a YouTube or Bilibili link, confirm the video type, clip length and aspect ratio, click “Get Highlights in One Click”, then review the clips sorted by score. Its features page says it creates 15-, 30- or 60-second clips with the hook at the start, reframes them to 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 or 4:5, creates captions, descriptions and hashtags, and generates titles and hook overlays.
Scoring is the feature it calls exclusive: each clip gets a virality score and the reason it was recommended, and its help center suggests starting with the highest-scoring clips. Its editor handles trims, captions, fonts, B-roll, music and brand styling, and its features page says it cleans filler words. On Pro and above, you can invite team members, assign roles and review clips together, and its features page also mentions reviewing analytics.
ShortFast is the better fit when there's no recording to start from. Give it a topic and it writes the script and hook, then renders the video in one of 27 styles, from licensed documentary stock footage to AI video or a fixed art style such as whiteboard or classical painting, with a voiceover from 40+ voices and burned-in, word-by-word captions. It also makes UGC-style videos with AI actors for ads. You can upload your own clips and swap them into any scene, but it won't turn a two-hour podcast into highlights; for that, use a clipper.
For a series, each automation follows a brief of up to 500 characters and writes a new episode for every posting slot, with a new topic, script, title, description and footage in the same tone, format and length, and recent titles checked. It posts each one, or emails it to you, with no approval step.
A series that posts itself still has to meet each platform's rules. In the section of its monetization policies headed “Generic or Repetitive Content”, YouTube says channels where content “feels interchangeable from video to video” are not allowed to monetize, and its spam policy lists “using automated tools or AI to churn out high volumes of similar content with minimal changes”. TikTok requires a label on realistic AI-generated content. Keep topics varied, and watch the first videos of any automated series before you let it run.
ShortFast's credits are spent on the videos it makes. A one-minute stock-footage video uses about 24 credits and an AI art-style one about 37, so Starter's 2,000 credits, at $29 a month or $15 billed yearly, cover about 80 or 50 such videos a month. Extra credits are $10 per 1,000, and every monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1.
ShortMind's credits measure minutes of uploaded video instead: per its pricing page, each minute processed uses 1 credit, and what you spend depends on video length and the features you use. Basic's 150 credits a month cost $17 and Pro's 300 cost $29 (October 24, 2026). The two companies' credits don't convert, so price the work you'd actually do: minutes of footage to clip on one, finished videos on the other.
