Vizard turns long recordings such as podcasts, webinars and interviews into captioned clips and schedules them. ShortFast is for when there's nothing to clip: it writes each short from a topic, renders it and posts it on a schedule.
Vizard is a clipper: it turns long recordings such as podcasts, webinars and interviews into captioned short clips and schedules them; ShortFast is an AI video automation platform that makes faceless shorts from a topic, with no recording at all. Keep Vizard if you already record long videos and want the best moments found, cut and posted; pick ShortFast if you have nothing to clip and want a series of faceless shorts written, rendered and posted to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts on the schedule you set.
Vizard's strengths are real. Its AI finds the highlights in a long upload, reframes and captions them, translates captions into 100+ languages on paid plans, and one toggle schedules the best clips across six social networks. It also has text-to-video tools and an agent in beta. ShortFast doesn't clip videos you upload: it writes the hook and script from a topic, builds every scene from stock footage, AI video or a fixed art style, and its automations write a new episode for every posting slot.
Vizard's Creator plan is $29 a month for 600 Vizard credits, where a credit is one minute of uploaded video for clipping, and its free plan gives 60 credits a month with a watermark. ShortFast's Starter is $19 a month, or $15 billed yearly, for 1,000 credits: about 80 stock-footage or 40 AI art-style videos at typical costs. The two companies' credits are different units. You can also run both: Vizard for clips from your recordings, ShortFast for a faceless channel next to them.

Vizard prices are its list prices for its smallest credit tier; Creator and Business also sell 1,000 to 6,200 credits a month at higher prices, at half price when billed yearly. For clipping or transcription, a Vizard credit is one minute of uploaded video. Vizard credits and ShortFast credits are different units and don't convert. ShortFast video counts are typical, not limits: about 12 credits for a stock-footage video and 25 for an AI art-style video.

Vizard turns long-form videos into short clips for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and more. Upload a podcast, webinar, interview or course and its AI finds the engaging moments, cuts them, keeps the main subject in the vertical frame and adds captions, with AI B-roll, emojis and highlighted keywords on every plan. Its editor trims by deleting words from the transcript, has a timeline for fine cuts and changes the aspect ratio, and paid plans translate captions into more than 100 languages.
Publishing is the other half. Turn on auto-schedule when you upload and Vizard picks the best clips, skips any below the viral score you set, writes the captions and spreads the posts over the days and times you choose, up to 10 a day, across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. Its homepage pitches Vizard to marketers as a way to "turn one webinar into a month worth of social media content", and for a podcast or a weekly webinar, that's exactly the job. Business adds a shared workspace and brand kit for teams.
Clipping needs a recording. A faceless channel about history, finance, psychology or scary stories has no podcast to cut. ShortFast starts from a topic instead: it writes the hook and script, or takes yours, builds every scene from licensed documentary stock footage, AI video or AI images in one of its fixed art styles, such as stick figures, comic book, anime or claymation, and adds a voiceover and word-by-word captions.
Vizard isn't footage-only, either. Its AI video generator turns a line of text into a narrated, subtitled video and, by its own account, works best under 3 minutes; AI Studio runs models such as Seedance on Vizard credits; and Vizard Agent, in beta, builds explainers, listicles, documentaries and ads from templates. The difference is the series. A ShortFast automation writes the next episode for every posting slot, with a new topic, script and footage in the same tone, format and length, checks your recent titles, and posts the video or emails it to you. Vizard's auto-schedule spreads out the clips of one upload instead.
Two YouTube rules apply to any automated channel, whichever tool you use. Its monetisation policies say content should "not be mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative", and its spam policy covers "using automated tools or AI to churn out high volumes of similar content with minimal changes". Vary the topics and check the first videos of any automated series. TikTok also requires a label on realistic AI-generated content.
Vizard has a free plan: 60 credits a month, or 60 minutes of uploaded video, with 720p exports of up to 10 minutes. Its help center says free-plan exports "will have a Vizard.ai watermark" and that projects expire after 3 days; its pricing page lists watermark removal, 4K exports and scheduled posts from Creator up, at $29 a month or $14.50 billed yearly. ShortFast has no free plan in the app: its videos come from the $1 three-day trial and the paid plans. If a free plan is a must, Vizard is the one of these two that has it.
Vizard's Creator plan is $29 a month for 600 credits, or $14.50 a month billed yearly, and Business is $39, or $19.50 billed yearly, with team features and 20 social accounts. Both sell larger tiers, up to 6,200 credits a month for $295 on Creator and $445 on Business. For clipping, a credit is a minute of uploaded video, so by Vizard's own example a 60-minute upload uses 60 credits. API projects draw on the same credits at no extra fee.
ShortFast's Starter is $19 a month, or $15 billed yearly, for 1,000 credits. A typical stock-footage video uses about 12 credits, an AI art-style video about 25 and an AI video about 324, so Starter covers about 80 stock-footage or 40 AI art-style videos. Extra credits are $10 per 1,000. The two companies' credits measure different things, so compare what each costs for the videos you actually make.
