Clippie is a template studio for short-form formats such as fake texts, Reddit stories and Would You Rather, which you finish in its editor; ShortFast writes, renders and posts a new faceless short to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts on a schedule. Pick Clippie if your channel runs on those formats or on gameplay backgrounds and you like shaping each video by hand; pick ShortFast if you want a series that keeps posting without you opening an editor.
Both turn a script into a narrated, captioned video in one art style, such as Clippie's 2D stickman or ShortFast's stick figures. In Clippie you make each video in the editor, and its privacy policy says it can publish to a connected YouTube, TikTok or Instagram account when you ask; a ShortFast automation writes the next episode for every posting slot and posts it, or emails it to you.
Entry prices are close: Clippie Lite is $19.99 a month for 30 export minutes and 100 AI images, and ShortFast Starter is $29 for 2,000 credits, about 80 one-minute stock-footage or 50 AI art-style videos. Neither has a free plan; every ShortFast monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1.

Clippie is built around templates, from fake texts in iOS, Instagram, WhatsApp or Tinder chat looks to Reddit stories made from a pasted link and the voiceover over gameplay footage that its homepage calls “the template that started it all”. Backgrounds come from a gameplay library its staff recorded, or from your own footage, music and sound effects. AI story videos, drawn in Clippie art styles such as 2D stickman or dark cartoon, can be edited scene by scene and narrated by an AI voice, a custom voice or your own recording, and AI Studio adds models such as Seedance, Veo and Flux. If your channel lives on these formats and you like finishing each video yourself, Clippie is the better tool; ShortFast makes no chat-screen, Reddit-post or gameplay videos.
ShortFast fits when the channel should keep posting without you. An automation takes a series brief of up to 500 characters, a style, a voice and a schedule. For every posting slot it writes the next episode: a new topic, script, title, description and footage, in the same tone, format and length, with recent titles checked. Then it posts the video or emails it to you. There is no approval step, so watch the first episodes.
Instead of chat screens and gameplay, its 27 styles use licensed documentary stock footage, AI video, or AI images in a fixed art style such as stick figures, whiteboard or Greek statues, and it makes UGC-style ads with AI actors. Story channels still work: write the story in your own words as the script. Starter covers one social account, Pro three (one per platform) and Advanced six across two profiles.
Automated channels live under the platforms' rules. YouTube's monetization policies say channels where content “feels interchangeable from video to video” can't monetize, and its spam policy covers “using automated tools or AI to churn out high volumes of similar content with minimal changes”. TikTok requires a label on realistic AI-generated content. Whichever tool you use, vary your topics and check the first videos of any automated series.
On October 23, 2026, Clippie's pricing page listed Lite at $19.99 a month, Creator at $34.99 and Pro at $69.99, or $14.92, $24.50 and $41.58 a month billed yearly. Lite's 30 export minutes cap it at about 30 one-minute videos a month, and its terms say the cost of each generation is shown before you start it.
ShortFast's Starter is $29, or $15 billed yearly, for 2,000 credits. A minute of stock-footage video uses about 24 credits, a minute in an AI art style about 37 and a minute of AI video about 440. The units don't convert, so price the videos you will publish. At the entry level Clippie costs about $9 a month less billed monthly and about the same billed yearly ($14.92 against $15), and the choice comes down to the formats you need and who does the posting.
