Blotato Alternative for Faceless Shorts: ShortFast vs Blotato

Blotato is a content and posting engine that turns ideas, links and files into posts and videos and publishes them to 9 platforms, from its app, an AI agent, n8n or Make. ShortFast is a faceless pipeline that writes each short from a topic, renders it in one of 27 styles and posts it on a schedule.

Short version

Blotato is for publishing and repurposing content across many networks; ShortFast is for running a faceless short-video channel that writes, renders and posts itself. Pick Blotato if you post many kinds of content to up to nine networks or build your own automations in n8n, Make or an AI agent; pick ShortFast if you want a new faceless short, made from a topic in one of 27 styles and posted to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts on a schedule, without building a workflow.

They meet at faceless video. Blotato's help center builds a daily faceless series as an n8n workflow around its “AI Video with AI Voice” template. In ShortFast that loop is the product: each automation writes the next episode, with a new topic, script, title and footage in the same tone and format, then posts it or emails it to you.

Starter is $29 a month at Blotato, with 1,250 AI credits and 20 social accounts, and $19 at ShortFast, with 1,000 credits and 1 social account; the credits don't convert. Neither has a free plan: Blotato has a 7-day free trial with a card, without its API, and every ShortFast monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1.

Pick ShortFast if
  • You want a faceless channel on a schedule: a topic in, a video posted to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
  • You'd rather not build and maintain an n8n or Make workflow for each series
  • You want each episode written for you, with a new topic, script and title, and recent titles checked
  • You want a fixed art style, such as stick figures, whiteboard, anime or claymation, or licensed documentary footage
  • You want to know what a finished video costs: about 12 credits for stock footage or 25 for an AI art style (typical)
Pick Blotato if
  • You publish to X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest from one app, API call or MCP tool
  • You build in n8n or Make and want official nodes for both
  • You repurpose YouTube and TikTok links, X posts, articles, PDFs and audio into posts
  • You make more than short videos: text posts, threads, carousels, infographics, quote cards and AI-avatar videos
  • You run several brands or an inbox: 20 accounts on Starter, analytics on eight networks, comment and DM replies on Instagram and Facebook

What Blotato does best

Blotato is built for distribution. Its app, REST API, MCP server and n8n and Make nodes publish to nine networks, now, at a set time or into the next free slot of a weekly calendar, and Starter connects 20 accounts. Writing, scheduling and publishing use no credits, so posting more doesn't change the bill.

It also covers the work around a post: it turns links, articles, PDFs, audio or a Perplexity query into posts, makes carousels, infographics, slideshows and AI-avatar videos, reads analytics on eight networks, and answers comments and DMs on Instagram and Facebook. If you post many kinds of content to many accounts, or wire up your own n8n or agent workflows, Blotato is the better tool. If you only need a scheduler for posts you already make, compare it with other schedulers; ShortFast is for when making the videos is the bottleneck.

When a faceless pipeline that posts fits better

A faceless channel needs a new video every day: a topic, a script with a hook, visuals, a voice, captions, a title and a post. With Blotato you assemble that loop from its n8n guide, and the workflow is yours to maintain. ShortFast runs it itself: each automation follows a series brief of up to 500 characters, writes a new episode for every posting slot in the same tone, format and length, checks recent titles so it doesn't repeat, renders it in one of 27 styles with a voiceover and captions, and posts it to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts or emails it to you, with no approval step.

Either way, automated channels live under the platforms' rules. YouTube's monetization policies say channels where content “feels interchangeable from video to video” can't monetize, and its spam policy covers “using automated tools or AI to churn out high volumes of similar content with minimal changes”. TikTok requires a label on realistic AI-generated content. Vary your topics and watch the first videos of every automated series.

Which is cheaper?

On October 23, 2026, Blotato's pricing page listed Starter at $29 a month for 1,250 AI credits, Creator at $97 for 5,000 and Agency at $499 for 28,000. It sells monthly plans; its FAQ says yearly billing, set in the billing portal, charges 10 months for 12. Its help center prices a 30-second video at its cheapest settings at 7 credits, about 178 on Starter.

ShortFast's Starter is $19 a month, $15 billed yearly, for 1,000 credits: about 80 stock-footage or 40 AI art-style videos at typical costs. Extra credits are $10 per 1,000. The credits don't convert, so compare the job: for a faceless series posted daily, price a finished episode on each; if you mostly publish posts you make elsewhere, weigh Blotato's flat fee for 20 accounts.

For n8n and agent builders

Blotato is the more complete kit for building your own automations: official n8n and Make nodes, a REST API, and an MCP server with 35 tools for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and other agents, on every paid plan but not the trial. ShortFast has no n8n or Make node; it has a REST API, signed webhooks and an MCP server that n8n and Make connect to with one URL. For a faceless series you may not need a workflow at all. The two can also sit side by side: ShortFast for the faceless series, Blotato for everything else you post.

FAQ

Common questions

Is there a free Blotato alternative?
Not ShortFast: it has no free plan, and every monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1. Blotato has no free plan either, per its pricing FAQ; its 7-day free trial needs a card and covers the web app and 60 AI credits, not the API or MCP server.
Is ShortFast cheaper than Blotato?
Starter is $19 a month at ShortFast ($15 billed yearly) and $29 at Blotato. The plans buy different things, though: Blotato's Starter has 20 social accounts and credits for AI images and clips, ShortFast's 1 social account and credits for finished videos. Price the output you need.
Does ShortFast have an n8n node like Blotato?
No. It has a REST API, signed webhooks and an MCP server that n8n and Make connect to with one URL. A free API tier gives developers 50 credits every 30 days for 3 watermarked renders, download only; Blotato's API needs a paid plan. And for a faceless series you may not need n8n at all.
Can Blotato make faceless videos?
Yes. Its “AI Video with AI Voice” template turns a prompt into a narrated video with AI images, a voiceover and captions, and its help center shows an n8n workflow that makes and posts one a day. ShortFast does it as a built-in automation, in 27 styles including licensed stock footage and fixed art styles.
