BigMotion and ShortFast both take a topic, write the script, generate the visuals and voiceover, and post the finished video to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube on a schedule. Neither needs footage from you. The differences are in how much control you keep and what you pay after the first month.
BigMotion is the better pick if you want a single faceless channel per platform running with nothing to configure and nothing to review. Its user guide is clear that you can preview the next video but not edit the title or script, that posting times are fixed in UTC, and that one BigMotion account connects to one account per platform. If that hands-off model is what you want, it is what BigMotion is built for, and it also offers music videos, image-to-video and a paid-ads generator that ShortFast does not.
ShortFast keeps you in the loop where it matters: you can edit scripts, set posting times in your timezone, run up to six accounts with their own queues, and drive all of it from an API. On price, ShortFast's $19, $39 and $99 are the recurring prices. BigMotion's advertised $19, $39 and $79 are first-month prices that renew at $39, $89 and $179, according to the checkout disclaimer on its own pages.

BigMotion no longer shows prices to visitors: as of October 23, 2026 its /pricing page returns a 404 and its homepage has no price cards. The checkout code on its homepage still defines first-month prices of $19, $39 and $79 that renew at $39, $89 and $179 a month, which matches what its pricing page said in September, and its terms convert a trial or introductory period into a paid plan unless you cancel at least 72 hours before it ends. How many videos each plan includes is no longer published. Ask for the renewal price and the video count in writing before you pay.
Its user guide states that refunds are not offered, and its terms add narrow exceptions such as a 30-day window if fewer than 10% of credits were used. Paid plans have no watermark and you own the videos. Whether there is a free trial is not clear from the pages we checked: the terms describe a trial that converts unless canceled 72 hours before it ends, but no trial price or allowance is displayed.
ShortFast's prices are the recurring prices. Starter is $19 a month for 1,000 credits, one automation and one social account. Pro is $39 for 5,000 credits, three automations with up to three posts a day each, and three accounts. Advanced is $99 for 10,000 credits, long videos up to 15 minutes, six automations and six accounts. Yearly billing is 20% off, and monthly plans start with a $1 three-day trial. A typical AI art-style video uses about 25 credits, a stock-footage one about 12 and a fully animated one about 464. Compared on renewal prices, ShortFast's $39 buys 5,000 credits, about 200 AI art-style videos at typical costs, where BigMotion's $39 buys about 14 videos.
BigMotion's series model is the purest version of set and forget. Pick a preset niche, or describe a custom topic and review its sample script, then connect your accounts, and the AI writes, renders and posts each video, generating the next as soon as the previous one goes live. Its user guide is specific about what you can and cannot do after that: you can preview the next video, but you cannot modify the title or script, and you cannot pull a single video out of the queue. Posting times are fixed by plan, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 12 AM UTC on the entry plan, and once or twice daily at 2 PM UTC on the others.
ShortFast runs the same loop with more for you to hold on to. Each automation has a topic, a visual style, a voice and a schedule you choose, with posting times in your own timezone and up to three posts a day per automation on Pro. You can write or paste your own script, and edit subtitles, footage and the caption before a video posts. A/B hook variations are coming soon. Publishing goes through the official TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts APIs, and everything is also available through a REST API, webhooks and an MCP server.
Account structure is the other practical difference. BigMotion connects one BigMotion account to one social account per platform, so two YouTube channels means two BigMotion subscriptions. ShortFast's Pro plan connects three social accounts and Advanced connects six, each with its own queue, from one login. If you run one channel and never want to touch it, BigMotion's constraints are not constraints. If you run an agency or several niches, they are.
These two overlap almost entirely on the core job. Both start from a topic, write the script, generate visuals and an AI voiceover, add captions, and publish to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube without you recording anything. Both offer AI actors for UGC-style or product videos, BigMotion under its AI Actors and paid-ads tools, and ShortFast as one of its two video types.
The visuals differ in kind. BigMotion builds scenes from AI-generated images in six or more art styles such as photo realism and anime, and adds image-to-video and music videos with beat and lip sync. ShortFast builds faceless videos from licensed stock footage or in one of 27 fixed styles, anime included, and can animate those scenes, but does not make music videos. BigMotion's site and app are also localized in 11 languages.
If you are deciding between them, look at three things: whether you want to edit scripts, how many accounts you need per platform, and the renewal price rather than the first-month price. Then try the one that fits. ShortFast's $1 trial runs three days with full access, which is enough to set up an automation and watch it publish.
