TikTok and YouTube Shorts Monetization in Egypt (2026)

What creators in Egypt can earn from on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, checked on Google's, TikTok's and Meta's own pages on 23 October 2026: both Partner Program levels, fan funding, AdSense payment methods for Egypt, US tax, and TikTok's country list.

By Chafik Gharbi ·

Creators in Egypt can earn from YouTube Shorts and long videos: Egypt is on Google's lists for the YouTube Partner Program, for its 500-subscriber level, and for channel memberships, Super Chat and Super Thanks. TikTok's main payout, the Creator Rewards Program, isn't open to creators based in Egypt according to the country list in TikTok's Creator Academy, and you can confirm both in YouTube Studio under Earn and in TikTok Studio under Monetization.

We checked every fact in this guide on 23 October 2026, on the Google, TikTok and Meta pages named next to it. Country lists change without notice, so check those pages again before you plan around them.

Egypt on each list, at a glance

YouTube Partner Program: Egypt is listed.

YouTube's expanded Partner Program, from 500 subscribers: Egypt is listed.

Channel memberships, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and Super Thanks: Egypt is on all three lists.

YouTube Shopping affiliate program: Egypt isn't among the 12 countries listed.

AdSense for YouTube payments: check and wire transfer are marked available for Egypt, EFT and PayPal Hyperwallet are not, and Google's Western Union Quick Cash page also lists Egypt.

TikTok Creator Rewards Program: Egypt isn't among the eight countries TikTok names.

TikTok Shop: Egypt isn't among the countries where TikTok says Seller Center is available.

TikTok Effect Creator Rewards, for people who build AR effects: Egypt is listed.

Instagram Gifts and Subscriptions: Egypt isn't on Meta's lists.

YouTube: both levels of the Partner Program are open in Egypt

Google's availability page (support.google.com/youtube/answer/7101720) lists Egypt among the places where "You can sign up for the YouTube Partner Program". Egypt is also on the list for the expanded program (support.google.com/youtube/answer/13429240), which lets channels in those countries join at a lower level and start with fan funding and Shopping before they qualify for a share of ad revenue.

The lower level needs 500 subscribers and 3 valid public uploads in the last 90 days, plus either 3,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months or 3 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days. The ad revenue level needs 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days (support.google.com/youtube/answer/72851). Shorts-feed watch hours don't count toward the 4,000, so a Shorts-only channel qualifies through views.

You also need 2-Step Verification, advanced features access, no active Community Guidelines strikes and one AdSense for YouTube account, which you can set up in YouTube Studio when you apply. Reviewers then look at the channel as a whole, and Google says a decision typically takes about a month.

Fan funding is open in Egypt from 500 subscribers

Google keeps a separate country list for each fan funding feature, and Egypt was on all three on 23 October 2026: channel memberships (support.google.com/youtube/answer/7636690), Super Chat and Super Stickers (support.google.com/youtube/answer/9277801), and Super Thanks (support.google.com/youtube/answer/10879035).

The minimum requirements for all three are being in the Partner Program, being at least 18, and living where the feature is available (support.google.com/youtube/answer/13195878). Memberships are monthly payments from viewers in return for perks you offer, and the channel can't be set as made for kids. Super Chat and Super Stickers work during live streams and Premieres. Super Thanks matters most for a Shorts channel: viewers buy a one-time animation to thank you on a Short or a long video, and their comment is highlighted.

Google adds that fan funding features "are not crowdfunding or donation tools" and that money from them "may be treated differently based on laws that apply to you and your activities".

One Shopping feature isn't open in Egypt. Tagging other brands' products through the YouTube Shopping affiliate program requires creators to be based in one of 12 countries, from the United States and India to Brazil and Japan, and Egypt isn't one of them (support.google.com/youtube/answer/12257682).

What changes on 1 February 2027

Channels that apply for ad revenue from 1 February 2027 will need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 qualified watch hours in the last 365 days or 20 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days; channels already in the program keep their status (support.google.com/youtube/answer/12843009). From that date, a channel gets Shorts Creator Pool money for a month only with 10 million qualified Shorts views over the previous 90 days, and missing that bar doesn't affect its place in the program or its other earnings. The 500-subscriber level doesn't change, and members must accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by 31 January 2027.

Getting paid in Egypt: check, wire transfer or Western Union

Partner Program earnings are paid through AdSense for YouTube. Google's table of payment methods by country (support.google.com/youtube/answer/14728152, repeated in the combined AdSense table at support.google.com/adsense/answer/1714397) shows this for Egypt:

Check: available.

Wire transfer: available.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): not available.

PayPal Hyperwallet: not available.

Wire transfer. For Egypt, Google's wire form asks for the account holder name, the bank name, the bank's SWIFT BIC and your IBAN, with optional fields for an intermediary bank (support.google.com/adsense/answer/3372975). Google sends wires "in U.S. dollars or Euros, depending on your account currency", and says to allow up to 15 business days for a transfer to complete (support.google.com/adsense/answer/7164703).

Check. Checks are mailed between the 21st and the 26th of the month, and Google says to allow two to four weeks for one to arrive, depending on the postal service in your area.

Western Union Quick Cash. A separate AdSense page (support.google.com/adsense/answer/2850006) lists Egypt with US dollars as the payment currency and a single-payment limit of 5,000 USD, and says larger payments can be split. A payment has to be picked up within 60 days, in the country it was issued to. Google says it charges no fee to receive one, that most agents let you collect it in local currency, and that the exchange rate is the agent's rate on the day you pick it up.

Three points from Google's payment FAQ apply here. "If a form of payment is not shown on your 'Add payment method' page, then it's not available in your country." For a wire, your bank or branch must be in the same country as the address in your payments settings. And "it's not possible to change your payment currency".

Google's threshold table (support.google.com/adsense/answer/1709871) sets the amounts by your account's reporting currency, and it has a row for the Egyptian pound: EGP 500 to choose a payment method and EGP 5,000 to be paid. For accounts in US dollars, the same two thresholds are $10 and $100. A payment is issued between the 21st and the 26th of the month if your balance on the 20th has reached the threshold and there are no holds on the account.

US tax on views from the United States

Google needs US tax information from every Partner Program creator by 10 December each year; with it, Google withholds US tax only on earnings from US viewers, and without it, Google may deduct up to 24% of total worldwide earnings (support.google.com/youtube/answer/10391362). Its page gives no rate for Egypt, so we don't either: AdSense for YouTube shows your rate once you submit the form. Google notes that tax forms accept only Latin characters, so a name written in Arabic has to be entered in Latin script. It also says "your local income tax laws may still apply" and that it can't give tax advice, so ask a tax adviser in Egypt about your own position.

TikTok in Egypt: what TikTok's own pages say

Many people search for this in Arabic, as "الربح من تيك توك في مصر" (earning from TikTok in Egypt). For TikTok's main payout, the Creator Rewards Program, which pays for qualified views on original videos at least one minute long, TikTok's own pages give a clear answer.

Its Help Center page (support.tiktok.com/en/business-and-creator/creator-rewards-program/creator-rewards-program) says creators must "Be based in one of the countries where the Creator Rewards Program is available", without naming them. TikTok's Creator Academy article on the program (tiktok.com/creator-academy/en/article/creator-rewards-program, last updated 10 September 2026) does name them: "The program is currently open to creators in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico, and Brazil, so you must be based in one of these countries and have an account registered there." Egypt isn't on that list, and the same article says qualified views must also come from those eight countries.

The other requirements, from 10,000 followers to 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, are covered in our guide to the Creator Rewards Program.

Why a foreign account or a VPN doesn't change the answer

Changing your account's country, or using a VPN or an account registered abroad, runs against TikTok's own rules. The Help Center requires "authentic account information, such as your real name and date of birth", lets creators apply only if they "have an account registered in an eligible region", and lists "Fraudulent or underage account information, such as a fake name or date of birth" among the things an account must not contain. And since qualified views have to come from the eight program countries, views from viewers in Egypt wouldn't count toward rewards in any case.

TikTok's other ways to earn

TikTok's Creator Academy overview of its monetization programs (last updated 17 October 2026) covers LIVE gifts, Subscription, TikTok Shop and Effect House rewards, among others, and ends with: "Head to TikTok Studio to check your status and take the next step." Here is what TikTok's pages say about each for Egypt.

LIVE gifts: TikTok's Help Center says "LIVE and Gift features aren't currently available everywhere", without a country list. Going LIVE requires you to be 18 with 1,000 followers, a number it says "may vary across regions", and receiving gifts during a LIVE requires you to be 18.

Subscription: TikTok's Creator Academy article on it (last updated 18 August 2026) names no countries. It sends creators to the Monetization tab in TikTok Studio, where joining Subscription walks you through the eligibility requirements.

TikTok Shop: TikTok's business help article on setting up a shop (updated June 2026) lists 11 countries where Seller Center is available, and Egypt isn't one of them. It isn't in the country selector on seller.tiktok.com either.

Effect Creator Rewards: this is the one TikTok rewards program whose own page names Egypt. The Effect House FAQ (effecthouse.tiktok.com/learn/guides/support/faq-effect-creator-rewards) lists Egypt among eligible regions, "subject to change". It pays people who build AR effects in TikTok's Effect House desktop tool when other people's videos use them, not people who post videos, and it asks for an Effect House badge level and effects that others already use. The FAQ says eligibility is "based on your location when you created your TikTok account".

So, going by TikTok's own pages on 23 October 2026, a creator based in Egypt can't plan around the Creator Rewards Program, TikTok's payout for views on videos. LIVE gifts and Subscription may appear in your own TikTok Studio; TikTok doesn't publish where they're available, so the app is the check. The same vertical video can still reach viewers on TikTok and go to YouTube Shorts, where the Partner Program is open.

Instagram Reels: Gifts and Subscriptions don't list Egypt

Meta publishes country lists for Instagram Gifts and Subscriptions, and Egypt isn't on either. Gifts, where viewers send paid gifts on your reels, needs a professional account, an age of 18 and 500 followers (help.instagram.com/738469380549477). Subscriptions, where followers pay monthly for exclusive content, needs a professional account with 10,000 followers and an age of 18 (help.instagram.com/478012211024479). Your Professional dashboard shows which monetization tools your account can use.

Two shapes of faceless channel from Egypt

Neither shape is a shortcut, and we don't publish earnings figures for either. Where viewers watch from matters: YouTube's analytics help says advertisers choose which geographies their ads reach and that "CPMs will vary by geography" (support.google.com/youtube/answer/9314357), and the Shorts Creator Pool is shared by engaged views "in each country" (support.google.com/youtube/answer/12504220). No Google page puts a number on any country, and neither do we.

Arabic-language channels. The first decision is the register: Egyptian colloquial Arabic or Modern Standard Arabic. Pick one and keep it across scripts, voiceover, titles and captions. Arabic also means right-to-left titles and captions, and an AI voice has to pronounce your scripts naturally, so test a few of your own scripts with any tool, ShortFast included, before you commit to it.

English-language channels for viewers abroad. The channel competes with English-language creators everywhere, so scripts, voice and topics have to hold up for viewers who know nothing about Egypt, whether the subject is Egypt itself, such as its history or places, or has no link to the country. If a large share of views comes from the United States, the US tax section above covers more of what the channel earns.

What keeps a faceless channel monetizable

YouTube's reviewers apply the same channel monetization policies to faceless channels as to any other, and those policies expect content that is "your original creation" and not "mass-produced, generic, repetitive, or manipulative" (support.google.com/youtube/answer/1311392). If the plan is to translate foreign articles or news into Arabic and read them out, note that YouTube's examples of reused content include "content that exclusively features readings of other materials you did not originally create, like text from websites or news feeds". Channels that present an AI persona as a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser giving advice "will not be allowed to monetize".

Where ShortFast fits

ShortFast is the AI short-video tool made by SachaSoft LLC, which publishes this blog. It writes the script, builds the scenes in one of 27 visual styles, adds an AI voice and burned-in captions (60+ languages, auto-detected), and posts the video to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts on a schedule. Plans are priced in US dollars: Starter $19, Pro $39 and Advanced $99 a month, and each monthly plan starts with a 3-day trial for $1.

It doesn't make a channel eligible for anything: monetization is YouTube's, TikTok's and Meta's decision under the rules above. YouTube's policies say that when you use automated tools or templates, "the final product must still demonstrate your creative vision and provide educational or entertainment value", and that part comes from your topics and your scripts.

How to check your own status

YouTube Studio: open Earn to see whether you can apply, and select Get notified to get an email when your channel reaches a threshold.

AdSense for YouTube: under Payments, then Payments info, the "Add payment method" page shows the methods open to your payment address.

TikTok Studio: from your profile, tap the Menu button, then TikTok Studio, then the Monetization tab, to see the programs your account can join.

Instagram: on your profile, tap Professional dashboard to see which monetization tools you can use.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you earn money from TikTok in Egypt?
Not through the Creator Rewards Program, according to TikTok's own list. Its Creator Academy article (last updated 10 September 2026) says the program is open to creators in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil, and that qualified views must come from those countries. TikTok's pages on LIVE gifts and Subscription name no countries, so check the Monetization tab in TikTok Studio. Its Effect House FAQ does list Egypt for Effect Creator Rewards, which pays for AR effects rather than videos. A VPN or a foreign account isn't a way in: TikTok requires authentic account information and an account registered in an eligible region.
Is YouTube Shorts monetization available in Egypt?
Yes. Egypt is on Google's Partner Program list and on the list for the expanded program (checked 23 October 2026). With 500 subscribers, 3 valid public uploads in 90 days and either 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days or 3,000 watch hours in 12 months, a channel can apply for fan funding and Shopping features. Ad revenue sharing needs 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days or 4,000 watch hours in 12 months. From 1 February 2027, new applicants for ad revenue need 20 million Shorts views or 8,000 watch hours.
How do YouTubers in Egypt get paid?
Through AdSense for YouTube. Google's table marks check and wire transfer as available for Egypt and EFT and PayPal Hyperwallet as not available, and its Western Union Quick Cash page also lists Egypt, paid in US dollars with a 5,000 USD limit per payment. For a wire, Google asks for the account holder name, bank name, SWIFT BIC and IBAN. The payment threshold depends on your account's reporting currency: EGP 5,000 in Egyptian pounds, or $100 in US dollars.
Are channel memberships, Super Chat and Super Thanks available in Egypt?
Yes. Egypt was on Google's availability lists for all three on 23 October 2026. You need to be in the YouTube Partner Program, which channels in Egypt can join from 500 subscribers through the expanded program, and to be at least 18. Super Thanks works on Shorts as well as long videos, while Super Chat and Super Stickers are for live streams and Premieres. The YouTube Shopping affiliate program, for tagging other brands' products, isn't available to creators in Egypt.
Can creators in Egypt earn from Instagram Reels?
Not through Gifts or Subscriptions for now. Meta's help pages list the countries where each is available, and Egypt wasn't on either list on 23 October 2026. Gifts needs 500 followers and Subscriptions 10,000, both with a professional account and an age of 18 or over. Your Professional dashboard shows which monetization tools your account can use.
